Dachan Bay Container Terminal, the latest container terminal in Shenzhen, is wholly owned by Dachan Bay Modern Port Development Co. Ltd., which has two shareholders: Modern Terminals Limited & Shenzhen Dachan Bay Port Investment & Development Co. Ltd. The Terminal is strategically situated in Bao An District (寶安區), Western Shenzhen, just north of Chiwan (赤灣) and Shekou (蛇口), 20 nautical miles north of HK, 40 nautical miles south of Guangzhou, and 10 km south of Bao An International Airport. It is within easy reach of cities on the eastern Pearl River Delta (PRD) such as Dongguan, Huizhou, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. It also enjoys convenient waterway links to the western PRD cities including Foshan, Shunde and Zhongshan. Its phase I development will have 5 berths, a total quay area of 1830 metres and is scheduled to be in operation by end of 2007. It has a designed capacity of 2.5 million TEUs a year, and will be able to handle the mega container vessels of the latest generation.

Shenzhen South-China International Logistics Co, Ltd (SILC) was founded in Dec 2000. It covers an area of 650,000 m2 with a total investment of RMB903m. SILC is located at Longhua (龍華), adjacent to the entrance of Meiguan Freeway (梅林高速). It is only 6 km from the Huanggang checkpoint (皇崗), 25 km to Yantian (鹽田), and 20 km to Shekou (蛇口). It joins the national railway-network by Pingnan Railway (平南鐵路), and extends outside with freeways and highways around.
SILC offers comprehensive services, including international trade warehousing, empty & laden depot, cross-border trucking, international forwarding, customs declaration brokerage and so on. It aims to launch a completely new business model, Inland Logistics Port. In this model, SILC will integrate the logistics resources of Shenzhen and HK and build a Green Lane between the two places. SILC also plans to build a modern Bonded Logistics Center.
