Christian BLANCKAERT

For 8 years, Christian Blanckaert was President of the Comité Colbert (1988-1996) which promotes and defends the know-how and quality of the French luxury companies. It was in this role that he met Jean-Louis Dumas, Chairman of Hermès, who appointed him in 1996 as Chairman of Hermès Sellier. At present he oversees the worldwide expansion of the Hermès Group.

Christian Blanckaert is also Chairman of the board of the French National school of Decorative Arts (ENSAD) and Mayor of Varengeville-sur-Mer. He is graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, and from the Faculty of Law of Paris. He also has an MBA from Insead. Christian Blanckaert wrote four books, Roads to luxury (1996), Portraits en clair-obscur (2001), a biography on Roger Salengro (2004), and “Luxe” (2007).
