The Central People’s Government (CPG) and the Government of the Hong Kong SAR signed the supplement V to CERPA on 29 July, 2008, introducing further trade liberalization measures. To enhance Guangdong-Hong Kong economic and trade co-operation, the CPG agreed to put in place services liberalization and facilitation measures for early and pilot implementation in Guangdong. The new CEPA measures will come into full implementation on 1 January, 2009.

The Trade and Industry Department of the Government of Hong Kong SAR has sent us 10 copies of the leaflet summarizing the liberalization measures and implementation details of all phases of CEPA. If you need a copy of the said leaflet, please contact us. More details can be found in the CEPA website of the Trade and Industry Department (TID) (www.tid.gov.hk/english/cepa) in which the “Information Database on CEPA Services Sectors” provides information on CEPA benefits, prevailing Mainland rules and regulations, procedures and requirements for setting up business for individual service sectors in the Mainland.
